Smashing our fundraising target for Coin Street

After a year of fundraising activities, including a Christmas raffle, pub quiz and the infamous Rat Race, we are pleased to have smashed our targets, raising over £6,700 for our CSR Partner – Coin Street Community Builders! We are proud as a business that we’ve collectively made this happen with the help and support from our clients, friends and families. In addition to this, a number of our consultants have volunteered to mentor and deliver skills-based workshops to the young entrepreneurs.

The amount raised will help Coin Street continue the important work they’ve been supporting in our area. This includes the Upgrade Yourself Programme, which aims to work with young people to reach goals which may have been seen as unattainable. The programme focuses on tailored activities for 16 to 30-year olds and early intervention from 12 years upwards.

The Chair of Coin Street Centre Trust, Elizabeth Owens, said the impact of our fundraising is “so important in helping to ensure that young people growing up locally know that the amazing array of career and business opportunities available here on the South Bank equally applies and is accessible to them.”

The amount Gate One raised will help support young entrepreneurs embark on new business ideas and support them to come to fruition. These vary from personal fitness services and online resources to promote confidence and empowerment to holistic well-being and massage therapy.

As a long-standing and committed member of the London South Bank community, we have a strong belief that we should strive to deliver value to the young people living and working around us. Therefore, it was important to us that we entered into a CSR partnership that embodied these values.

Gate One’s funding has allowed Coin Street to:

  1. deliver 2 x 6-week training programmes focused around business start-up and business development
  2. provide a platform for young people to meet business mentors to discuss their specific ideas
  3. run bespoke workshops with guest speakers around pitching ideas and best practice sharing from a successful entrepreneur
  4. organise a marketplace event at the Coin Street neighbourhood centre for new SME’s.

Elizabeth Owens added “Given Gate One’s values led approach and the fact that both our organisation and theirs share a belief in the transformation power of enterprise for young people, the partnership feels very fitting from our point of view.”

Having an effective partnership together with values that are aligned has made all the difference in ensuring an effective collaboration and focus on making a difference.

As our partnership continues, we look forward to achieving more with Coin Street for the benefit of young people living and working around us.
