Market volatility around tuition fees and student funding, and the need to deliver a greater student experience, leaves many higher education establishments facing an uncertain future.

Our client had a vision to sit at the heart of connecting people to higher education, allowing students to access the very best education. The strategy was too wide-reaching in its scope and the executive team were unable to collectively agree a prioritised set of actions around which to focus the organisation.

We facilitated the executive and senior management group through a robust, efficient process to refresh the existing corporate strategy for the next two years.

Alongside the CEO and Change Portfolio Lead, we united and mobilised the executive team. Then, involving the wider leadership team, we secured the critical buy-in needed to create a powerful driving force behind the vision. We collaborated with the stakeholders to encourage them to make strategic decisions in a deliberate, data-driven manner. Finally, coaching was provided to arm the executive team with the confidence to roll out the change, which attracted greater acceptance of the new strategic direction.

Our client now has a customer-focused strategy that:

  • Delivers exceptional outcomes for students and education providers alike.
  • Was universally agreed by the board with full support from the executive team.
  • Galvanises the wider organisation to support the change.
  • Includes the mechanisms needed to deliver the resulting transformation programme.

“Expertly facilitated the executives through a well-managed process – balancing conceptual rigour with deft stakeholder management and challenging our thinking.”
