Umbar is head of digital at Gate One. She has 17 exciting years’ experience in digital and has delivered end to end digital transformation in a wide range of businesses and sectors, from strategy and portfolio direction to digital innovation and culture change. She is passionate about digital and its power to help organisations and their customers discover new ways of doing business and living their lives.

Umbar is a freelance digital artist and photographer and has been published in major international fashion magazines including Elle and Asiana. She also designs skins for 3D virtual reality gaming via Second Life.

Maximilian has ten years’ experience working in regulatory change concentrating on the financial services sector. He has previously worked with capital markets clients on new large-scale regulations such as the Volcker Rule and MiFID II. He has helped clients with rule interpretation and trading strategies as well as the creation of efficient business solutions to ensure regulatory compliance.

In his most recent role as the MiFID II Investor Protection lead, Maximilian worked on complex conduct requirements with internal business stakeholders and closely cooperated with relevant industry forums. His client-focused approach in dealing with regulatory change sits squarely in Gate One’s values-based transformation capabilities for financial services.

Outside of work he keeps busy teaching and travelling.

After completing her History degree, Sarah spent 2 years with a large consultancy before moving to Gate One in June 2018. She has experience designing and delivering large transformation programmes across multiple sectors including Health, Public Sector, Utilities, and Financial Services.

Internally, Sarah has taken the lead on Continuous Personal Development, and is also on the Summer 2019 GateAway team – both of which align with Sarah’s interest in people development.

Outside of Gate One, Sarah loves to read books, explore new places, and have friends round for dinner. In short, Sarah aspires to have a ‘hygge’ life.

James accumulated over a decade of Big Four consulting experience in the UK and Australia prior to joining Gate One. He has driven transformative change in a range of public and private sector multinationals and now leads Gate One’s Travel & Transport sector.

A proven problem solver, James specialises in operating model design, portfolio management, customer strategy and experience, and performance improvement. James relishes building high performing teams to work side by side with clients on their most complex and high profile programmes.

James is a seasoned explorer with his countries visited tally at 40 and counting, including a 2017 visit to France where he fulfilled his lifelong dream of representing Great Britain in the (now IOC-recognised) sport of Ultimate Frisbee.
