As a part of our ambition to make a difference, we are proud to announce that we are now supporting a local provider of education and employment programmes, SE1 United, which works with young people in the Southwark and Lambeth area.
A core part of the Gate One ethos is to ‘make the difference on the things that makes the difference’. This extends beyond our work as consultants, and into the community around us, because we believe that our talented and enthusiastic team can make a difference.
SE1 United is a charity founded by young people in 2003. It empowers members to create programmes and events that raise their aspirations, promote a positive image of young people and give them a voice which transforms community.
Commenting on the partnership, Gate One Founding Director Alex McEvoy said,“As well as sharing the same postcode, we think that SE1 United and Gate One also share an entrepreneurial spirit and we’re excited to bring our eclectic bag of consulting and non-consulting skills to SE1 United.
“We look forward to seeing the potential positive impact on the communities through our combined efforts.”
To kick off the partnership, a group of 12 intrepid Gate One consultants and directors took to the Dirty Weekender Rat Race in May, to complete the 13-mile obstacle course consisting of no less than 100 obstacles. They completed the course and raised over £4,000 for SE1United.
